Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): Officials from the directorate of Health & Family Welfare visited health units in Phek district to assess the district preparedness for measles-rubella vaccination campaign on Aug. 24.
State Program Officer Dr. Temsula along and Dr. Neisakho Kere during their visit had a meeting with the staff of NVBDCP from all the blocks and reviewed the performance status of block wise. They also and interacted with district program officers and health workers.
Dr. Temsula briefed the health workers of the district on the elimination phase of malaria. He said that all staffs irrespective of designation are equally important for elimination of malaria by 2030 and district status, for which she requested the health workers to extend corporation and work with sincerity.
She encouraged the MTS to interact and motivate the ASHAs for collection of blood slides during their field visits. She also stressed on the importance of reporting and cross checking of blood slides.
Dr. Neisakho Kere in his address said that there should not be any deficiencies in the reporting and recording if the health workers are sincere and regular in their duties. He also spoke on the important roles and duties of monitoring health units.
He added that timely submission of reports to the district by the blocks and to the state is important. He directed the blocks to attend monthly ASHA block meeting.
