Continuing with their social responsibility programs, the 111th battalion of the Border security Force on March 29 conducted a free medical camp in Gukhuyi and Kisheshe Sukhai villages under Zunheboto district. The event was organized in collaboration with nongovernmental organizations including the Non Users Network, public health center of Satakha, and GBs of villages , among others.
Medical officer Dr M Mahesh Goud and his team of medical personnel carried out health check-up on 47 villagers.
The villagers were also made aware of various diseases and the preventive measures they can take to stay protected. During the civic action programme, grocery items as well as items from the unit canteen were also made available to the inhabitants of the two villages.
The villagers appreciated the efforts of the battalion and requested to more health camps and essential services frequently.
“It has been a constant effort of Border Security Force to forge a healthy relationship with the local population and it was a small but right step in that direction,” a note from the security force on Thursday stated.
