Imphal, Sep. 6 (EMN): Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat organised one day seminar on ‘Media and parliamentary reporting’ at the Conference Hall, Manipur Legislative Assembly in Imphal on Wednesday.
Speaker Yumnam Khemchand Singh of Manipur Legislative Assembly was the chief guest of the inaugural function while President TN Haokip of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee and MLA presided over the inaugural function of the seminar which was attended by media fraternity both from print and electronics in the state.
Former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam,former Minister and opposition firebrand O Joy Singh and Secretary M Ramani Devi of Manipur Legislative Assembly also attended inaugural function.
In his speech Speaker Khemchand also informed that the assembly will try to open a training bureau for its staffs and others within its set up. Former Chief Minister Koijam, O Joy and TN Haokip also spoke during the gathering.
In the technical session, TN Haokip delivered lecture on Relation between Legislature and Media, Associate Professor Dr N Pramod Singh of LMS Law College on & Constitutional Provisions on the Privilege and Parliamentary Reporting, Koijam on Parliamentary Procedures and O Joy Singh on Reporting of the Proceedings of the House and Breach of Priviledge and Contempt of the House.
More than 50 media persons including editors attended the day’s seminar.
