DIMAPUR — In a significant step towards enhancing access to world-class healthcare to North-East India, Gurgaon-based Medanta – The Medicity, which has been ranked India’s Best Private Hospital by Newsweek for six consecutive years, will be organising a three-day medical camp in Kohima, starting June 25.
According to an update, the medical camp is being organised in partnership with the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Directorate of Industries & Commerce and Nagaland Police.
The multi-speciality medical camp will bring advanced healthcare to Nagaland and provide “accessible medical care to underserved populations.”
The activity is being organised subsequent to Medanta signing an MoU with the Nagaland government for accreditation to the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS).
The medical camp will also reinforce Medanta’s commitment to delivering comprehensive, world-class health care across India.
“Nagaland faces unique healthcare challenges due to limited access to specialised care and a high prevalence of cancer, which ranks among the top five leading causes of death in the state.

“This high prevalence underscores the urgent need for increased awareness and improved access to cancer care treatment. There is a critical need to raise awareness about the importance of preventive measures with respect to Nagaland’s cancer burden – especially with regards to tobacco use – and early intervention to improve patient outcomes,” it stated.
“At Medanta, we believe that quality healthcare should be a right, not a privilege and through this initiative, we reaffirm our mission to make cutting-edge healthcare accessible to all, no matter where they live,” Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, shared.
Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of IDAN, extended gratitude to the Medanta Group for partnering with the Government of Nagaland and bringing their world-class medical ecosystem to the state.
The multi-speciality medical camp, which will start at 10 am, will be set up at three different locations: June 25 at IDAN, Capital Convention Center; June 26 at Directorate of Industries and Commerce Office, and June 27 at Nagaland Police Headquarters, Kohima.
