Dimapur, July 3 (EMN): Phek district conducted workshop on district planning for Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign on July 2 at the chief medical officer’s conference hall in Phek.
During the workshop, District Immunization Officer Dr. Kolhitso Khalo said that the objective of the workshop is to train the block medical officers and program managers to impart training at the block level. He informed that the vaccination campaign will start from Oct. 3, in line with the national target of Measles Elimination and Rubella Control by 2020.
The campaign targets children from 9 months to 15 years of age. It will be carried out across the schools, educational institutions and health units in the state, the press release received here on Tuesday informed.
The trainees comprises block SMOs, MOs and sr. pediatrician from district hospital, program managers, epidemiologist, data manager IDSP, vaccinators, DCM and district media officers were oriented on basic strategic operational plans for the campaign, basic micro planning, AEFI management during campaign and different communication plans for health facility, PHCs level and sub-centers level.
The resource persons were Dr. Prafull Who (RRT) and Dr. Kulo Kapfo. Altogether 36 participants have attended the workshop.
