Dimapur, July 2 (EMN): The district measles-rubella vaccination campaign workshop was conducted on 2nd July 2018 in the CMO’s conference hall.
During the inaugural function, Dr. Rebecca, DPO, RCH-UIP oriented the trainees on the upcoming measles-rubella (MR) campaign in Nagaland. She informed that the campaign will be launched on October 3 for the entire state of Nagaland. During the Campaign, children up to 15 years will be vaccinated.
The campaign aims to rapidly build up immunity for both measles and rubella diseases in the community so as to prevent the disease, therefore, all the children should receive MR vaccine during the campaign, a press release received here on Monday informed.
The dose to be given during the mass campaign is a supplementary dose. The MR vaccine to be used in the campaign is a safe and effective vaccine for elimination of measles and control of rubella, it informed.
Resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Abhishek Singh, RRT Who; Dr. Rebecca, DPO, UIP / RCH; Dr. Narola, MO Chumukedima; and Imli, project officer, UNDP. The trainees included block medical officers, SHP MO and staff, block program managers, ASHA Co-ordinators of all the blocks and DPMU staff.
