MDSC vice president, L Alemtemsu Ao, said the association has decided to commemorate the celebration of its silver jubilee by organising a motor rally in December in continuation of the “Nagaland Autumn Rally” which was the first motorsports event in Nagaland organised by MDSC in 1991.
The competition will be conducted in two segment- Adventure modes (non-competition) and Auto Cross (Competition event).
It may be mentioned that In 1991, the first Nagaland Autumn Rally was flagged off from Kohima via Kiphire-Tuensang- Mokokchung (halt)-Chozuba-Kohima-Mokokchung covering two-day from 10 to 11 October. The second Autumn Rally was also held in 1992 during the celebration of 35 years of the statehood.
MDSC was formed on February 16, 1979, (the first sports council in the state) as the apex sports council for Mokokchung district catering other sports associations under its wings.
MDSC has also organised motor events like Discover Mokokchung in 2006, Tour De Hills in 2008, Tour De Hills II-in 2009, and Tour De Hills III in 2015 by AMAM under the aegis of MDSC.
