Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): The Mon District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) and District Aids Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) , during a consultative meet held on Sep. 25, has resolved to create more awareness on HIV/Aids and open up and come forward for identifying the patients.
A press release received here stated that the consultative meet was held to discuss on issues relating to stigma and discrimination, Children affected by Aids (CABA), uptake of social schemes and legal protection. Officials from department of social welfare, transport, food and civil Supplies, World Vision, Link ART Centre, Shansham Organisation attended the consultation meet.
At the meeting, the keynote address was delivered by Longnyim Tzudir, DPO DAPCU; while information about the social schemes and legal protection were highlighted by N. Mannon panel lawyer MDLSA.
Saying that different departments highlighted the schemes and deliberated on it, the house resolved to create more awareness on HIV/Aids, and also resolved to reorganise the Network of People Living with HIV/Aids.
“There will be follow up meet with the concerned departments in connection with the schemes and also to target the setting up of ART Centre at Mon for the convenience of the marginalised positive people,” the release further stated.
