Mokokchung, Oct. 25 (EMN): Telongjem FC entered the final of the MDFA Trophy by thrashing Alempang YD 4-1 in their semi-final match at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Friday, October 25.
Telongjem, who lost to Intermingle Club in the semi-final last year, passed the hurdle this time. They will now meet Zonipang SA in the final.
Kezhose Mathew opened the account for Telongjem in the 22nd minute by slotting home a goal at near-post before Nyithong Magh added one more a minute later. Purakum increased the score line to 3-0 in the 26th minute by converting Sowami’s pass into a goal.
Alempang’s lone goal came from Chubatemsu in the 57
th minute. Mathew scored one again for Telongjem, his seventh goal in this tournament, to seal the match.
Minister Metsubo Jamir will be the chief patron of the closing ceremony to be held today (Saturday).
MDFA tomorrow final match will begin from 12:00 pm and Minister, Metsubo Jamir have consented to the chief patron in the closing ceremony.
