Mokokchung, Oct. 11 (EMN): Along with the rainy weather conditions it rained goals at Mokokchung with a total of 17 in a day at the on-going MDFA Trophy 2018 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Oct. 11.
The Intermingle Club completely routed Alempang Y/D 9-0 while SSS Yellow beat Friends United F/C 4-0 and FC Young Boys and Hills XI FC settled in 2-2.
Intermingle registered an easy win with nine goals against Alempang Y/D in the first match. Yhunshalo, the star of the match scored five goals while Limakumzuk Ao scored two goals, Sanyem Konyak and Bendangnukshi scored a goal each.
Entering the first half, Intermingle club went first scored in the 9th minute only to be followed by goals in the 12th, 20th, 21st and 23rd minute.
Four more goals were added in the second half of the game in the 45th, 48th, 57th and 59th minute. Alempang YA proved too weak for the strong Intermingle team, one of the top contenders for this year’s edition of MDFA.
The second match between FC Young Boys and Hills XI FC ended in a draw of 2-2. Both the goals for FC Young Boys were scored by Neiphivilie in the 17th and 50th minute, while the goals for Hills XI FC were scored by Rongsenchiba and Moaakum in the 52nd and 58th minute respectively.
In the last match of the day, SSS Yellow scored one of the fastest goals of the tournament within the first minute of kick-off against Friends United FC. The goal was scored by Toshiwapang. He again scored the second goal through a penalty when he was tackled down in the 20th minute.
Toshiwapang added two more goals to his collection when he scored in the 64th and 69th minutes. SSS yellow has been a crowd pulling team and with their first win, the team proves to be a strong contender for MDFA Trophy 2018.
