Mon District Congress Committee (MDCC) organised a delegates leadership training programme on April 29 at DCC Bhavan Mon in the presence of NPCC officials. NPCC officials included V Lasuh, vice president and in-charge of Mon district; Ayang Aonok, working president NPCC; and Jonathan, general secretary NPCC.
Speaking on the topic “Secularism and communalism,” Tingyeih, NPCC vice president, said Congress never discriminate any religious or caste adding Congress party believes in freedom of religion. He also said that Congress party is a peaceful party which works for equality to every state.
He went on to allege that BJP party at the centre play a uniform evil code where it gives inequality to the religious. He said December 24 and 25 were declared as working day and the Fathers’ Day as yoga day. He alleged that Christian church and Muslim mosque were destroyed under NDA government.V Lasuh, NPCC vice president and in-charge of Mon district, said NPCC would work to cover medical expenses for all patients with terminal sickness and ensured that social security welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries. Also stating that women play a finer role in social disciplines, he requested the womenfolk to participate in political system.
He said the party intended to induct women into the main political system and had already made a road map for women. He said this while speaking on the topic ‘NPCC roadmap and 10 points modalities.’
Ayang Aonok, working president NPCC, spoke on the topic ‘Organization set up and co-ordination,’ while Jonathan, general secretary NPCC, spoke on ‘Party ideology and protocol.’ L Takyong Konyak, former DCC president, spoke on the formation of Indian National Congress (INC) and its objective and formation of NPCC. Manang, DCC member, spoke on ‘UPA flagship programme and enrolment’ and Lanpha, former MLA and PCC member, spoke on “Church and politics.”
PCC members of Mon district and ACCC office bearers, DYC, DMCC, NSUI, Sevadal DCCs members, and DCC executives attended the leadership training programme.
