Dimapur, Dec. 17 (EMN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has sought ‘deep’ investigation in the recently reported case of LPG pilferage in Mokokchung. The MCCI issued a press release on Monday. The report about the Mokokchung police apprehending six persons allegedly for pilfering domestic LPG on Saturday morning was an “uncomfortable surprise,” the MCCI stated. While lauding the police for their proactive action, the group urged them not to release the “culprits” who are in their custody until all “due course of law is applied.”
The organisation requested the authorities to “investigate deep into the LPG pilferage racket and uproot this menace for good...” In a related matter, the MCCI expressed regret that “the dealer’s name have been tarnished after a video pertaining to the case went viral on various social media platforms,” although “the police has reportedly confirmed that the dealer of the LPG cylinders has no hand in the latest pilferage case.”
The group has requested consumers and the public “not to jump to hasty conclusions until the due process of law is completed.”
