Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): The Manik Bhattacharjee Foundation (MB Foundation), Dimapur, organised a felicitation-cum-Manik Bhattacharjee Award ceremony for toppers of HSLC and HSSLC 2019-2020 on Saturday at the Pranab jubilee auditorium. The event also marked the 86th birth anniversary of Manik Bhattacharjee.
Charlie Sekhose, renowned socio-political leader and senior vice president of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, and Kitoshi Zhimomi, president of Rotary Club Dimapur, were the special guests, an update from the principal of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School stated.
Sekhose paid homage to late Manik Bhattacharjee and lauded the various activities of MB Foundation. He also called upon the students to be agent of change for a brighter India.
Also speaking on the occasion, Zhimomi appreciated the teaching faculty of the institution for enabling the students to excel in the field of education.
Monoj Bhattacharjee, chief organiser of MB Foundation, delivered the keynote address.
The Manik Bhattacharjee Award was conferred to the toppers of HSLC and HSSLC 2019-2020 namely Wangshitemjen, Abhi Chakraborty, Imtijungla, Ananya Kumar Das, Suhana Begum, Anushka Bhattacharjee, Chumliba R, Ichha Upadhyay. One retired teacher N Datta was also felicitated for his selfless service.
Other dignitaries present during the programme were president of Inner Wheel Club Dimapur Sanjukta Bhattacharjee, advocate S Ahmed, Monoj Bhattacharjee, Navojyoti Datta, Jakha, Tali Pongen, Santosh Shastriji, YP Gupta, Samir Saha, AK Roy, and Mahendra.
