
Dimapur, July 31 (EMN): The Mayangnokcha Award Trust (MAT) has shortlisted five students for Mayangnokcha Awards for Academic Excellence 2021.
According to the MATt secretary, Dr. Furkumzuk, the Mayangnokcha award for academic excellence (overall topper) would be conferred to Keneino Thorie from Trinity School in Kohima. She would receive a cash prize of INR 25,000 along with a memento and certificate of merit. She would also receive the MAT- YRSD award (subject topper in Social Sciences), sponsored by Youth Resources and Sports department. She would also receive a cash prize of INR 5,000 along with a memento and certificate of merit.
The MAT-RC award (subject topper in Ao MIL), sponsored by Rockdale Club of Mokokchung in commemoration of its silver jubilee (1978-2003) would be conferred to Atula W Mongro from Nagaland Christian Residential School in Mokokchung. She would receive a cash prize of INR 5,000 along with a memento and certificate of merit.
The MAT-TY award (subject topper in Science), sponsored by Tir Yimyim, would be conferred to Yimyatetla Longkumer from Holy Cross Higher Secondary School in Dimapur. She would receive a cash prize of INR 5,000 along with a memento and certificate of merit.
The MAT-EFoM award (subject topper in Mathematics), sponsored by Education Forum of Mokokchung, would be conferred to Vibeli K Achumi from Fernwood School in Kohima. She would receive a cash prize of INR 5,000 along with memento and certificate of merit.
The MAT-CEC award (subject topper in English) sponsored by C-Edge College would be conferred to Tiamaong Aier from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Dimapur. He would receive a cash prize of INR 5,000 along with memento and certificate of merit.
MAT has been felicitating specific toppers from HSCL examinations conducted by NBSE for their academic excellence for the last twenty-eight years since its inception in 1993.
According to Dr. Furkumzuk, MAT recognises, honours and encourages meritorious Naga students at the high school level. It also aims at creating a spirit of healthy competitiveness among the students in the field of education in order to bring out their best and worth, thereby improving the overall standard of education. He added that it has been a source of encouragement to the recipients of the awards as well as the student community in general.
