Mass social work in Kohima district on April 10. Officials, public urged to join cleanliness drive and proper waste disposal.

DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has issued a notification informing that a mass social work will be conducted across Kohima district on April 10 from 7 am onwards.
According to a DIPR report, all administrative officers, heads of offices, and the general public have been informed to participate in the social work.
Heads of offices have been requested to ensure that all teams and participants bring the necessary tools and items required for the exercise.
They have been instructed to ensure that the collected garbage is properly disposed of at the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site at Meriema, and that attendance is submitted on the day of the social work.

The notification also stated that all outpost area administrative officers are to carry out the mass social work in the towns and villages under their respective jurisdictions on the same day.
The chairman, Kohima Municipal Council, has been requested to mobilise all colonies and wards under the municipal area in coordination with the ward councillors to ensure active participation.
Further, the CEO of KMC has been informed to direct the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) to ensure that social work from TCP Gate to Keziekie is carried out by the business establishments falling under that zone, and that all shops and establishments mandatorily clean the areas in front of their respective premises during the conduct of the social work.
