Kohima, Oct. 14 (EMN): Viswemi FC were through to the semi-final of the ongoing 20th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2019 organised by the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) by defeating Unity FC 2-1 at the Khuochiezie, Kohima local ground
In the fourth quarter-final match played between Viswemi FC and Unity FC, Keneikhrietuo opened the account for the latter by scoring in the 32nd minute.
However, after the lemon break, Kelengoto of Viswemi FC equalised the score in the 46th minute before his teammate Kelesal sealed the match by scoring in the 58th minute.
Tepusato of Viswemi FC was cautioned with a yellow card in the match.
With the victory, Viswemi FC will now take on Meriema Village Youth Organisation on Thursday, October 17 at 1:30 pm at Khuochiezie, Kohima local ground.
Viliehu Nguzhű, president of Angami Sports Association was the patron of the match for the day.
It may be mentioned that the quarter-final rounds ended with 114 goals, 49 yellow cards and five red cards.

Exhibition Match
An update from the president of Angami Students’ Union, Vizokao Zashűmo and Information and Publicity Secretay, Thomas Khawakhrie informed that the much- awaited 4th edition of football exhibition match between Seniors FC (ASU) and Kohima Bar Association (KBA) will be played on Tuesday, October 15, 2:00 pm, at Khuochiezie, Kohima local ground.
Both the team officials of the upcoming exhibition match have expressed gratefulness for making the match a part of the prestigious 20th NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy. The officials and players of Senior FC are experienced in the sport and looking forward to playing the exhibition match, it stated. It also stated that many former players from both teams, who had played for the state and various clubs in their hay days, are expected to display their skills and talents.
Former NSF president and KMC chairman Vipopal Kintso will be the patron of the match.
Player of the match, highest scorer and best goalkeeper of the day awards will be sponsored by Kevilebel Zashűmo, proprietor of sports paradise Rűluo Market Kezieke, Kohima.
