Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): The Chakhesang Catholic Association (CCA) along with Chakhesang Catholic Youth Association (CCYA) organised a one-day seminar on ‘Catholic faith and marriage’ and ‘lay apostolate’ at Holy Family Parish, Pfütsero on Wednesday.
A press release from CCYA informed that Rocus Chasie, first president of Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) and joint director (Rtd) H&FW was the resource person of the seminar.
Chasie stressed on the importance of “communion of the union of man and women” in the first session of the programme. Marriage, he said, is a “special vocation one is called to by God for the service of men and God for matrimony is the sacrament of service.”
The issues of marriage preparation, divorce, mixed marriage, impediments of marriage etc. took the centre stage in the first session.
Mhaseto Lancelot Nakro, principal Government Polytechnic Atoizu and general secretary of CAN, asked the faithful to “take the walk of faith and experience the growth in Christ and live a life that is limitless in grace.”
The second session of the programme was on ‘Lay Apostolate’. It was followed by panel discussion and adoption of resolution.
A total five parishes of the CCA namely, Pfütsero, Chizami, Lozaphuhu, Razeba and Thenyizumi along with the Chakhesang Catholic Community Kohima(CCCK) and Chakhesang Catholic Women Association (CCWA) participated in the seminar.
