Manning check gate, blockade of roads by civilians banned

Mokokchung, March 28 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung Limawabang Jamir, on Saturday issued an ordered stating that “no individuals/ group of individual/ NGO other than authorised government agencies are permitted to erect check gate, blockade and resort to checking,” stating it might disrupt the delivery of essential goods and services to the public.

Jamir stated that according to the power conferred under Epidemic Diseases Act 1997, those disrupting the flow of essential goods and services throughout Nagaland and any other states in India “shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the IPC”.
