Imphal, Jan.14: The five day 2nd Manipur Statehood Day Women Polo Tournament will commence from January 17 to 21 at Mapal Kangjeibung, the oldest polo ground located in the heart of Imphal city.
The Chief Minister of Manipur O Ibobi Singh chaired the organising committee’s meeting and decided to constitute seven sub-committees with the respective conveners. The seven sub-committees are technical sub-committee (match and stable), ground sub-committee, souvenir sub-committee, publicity and advertisement sub-committee, liaison sub-committee, medical and veterinary sub-committee and reception sub-committee and the conveners of the committees include All Manipur Polo Association (AMPA) Secretary N Philip, member M Khelendro, Government consultant Dr RK Nimai Singh, Deputy Director (Tourism) Manipur Ms Daryal Juli Anal, Director, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry H Chaoba Singh and Dr K. Sarat Singh respectively.
The meeting also decided to invite Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam for gracing the opening ceremony as Chief Guest and President.
The closing ceremony will be graced by the State governor Dr Najma A Heptullah and the Chief Minister as the Chief Guest and President respectively.
