IMPHAL — The Manipur Junior Boys’ Football Team clinched the championship title at the Junior Boys’ National Football Championship for the Dr. BC Roy Trophy 2025-26, defeating West Bengal 3-0 in the final held at GDNU Sports Complex, Amritsar, Punjab, on July 30.
A press statement from L Jyotirmoy Roy, the general secretary of the All Manipur Football Association, informed this.
During the match, good teamwork was on display yet again as two-time champions Manipur enjoyed a 2-0 first-half lead before securing a 3-0 win for their third title against the defending and 18-time champions West Bengal.

Manipur kept pressing for more goals while West Bengal players did their best to reduce the margin, although their efforts were in vain as Manipur goalkeeper Kamei Jenthuipou Kamei and the defenders appeared invincible.
Meanwhile, congratulating the Manipur team with a photo of the winning team on X, former Chief Minister N Biren wrote, "After 25 years, Manipur lifts the Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy. Hearty congratulations to the victorious Junior Boys’ National Football Championship team from Manipur for their outstanding triumph in the 2025-26 edition.
