Imphal, Feb 14: All Manipur Inter-States bus and allied transport association has threatened to suspend the normal passenger transport services if the state authority fails to provide necessary fuel through a dedicated oil pump in Imphal.
Secretary M Bimol of the association in a statement said that non-allocation or rationing of diesel for the inter-state passenger buses and wingers has severely hit the normal passengers services in a big way. He said this in view of the unavailability of the duel diesel in particular following the economic blockade in the state. Around 40 wingers and 20 inter-states buses which have been plying along the National Highways despite the ongoing blockade, requires around 3000 litres (diesel) on a daily basis, said the association. United Naga Council called the blockade on national highways in the state since November 1 midnight in protest against the government’s move to create sadar hills and jiribam into full fledged districts.
