Imphal, Feb. 12 (EMN): Manipur on Saturday reported three Covid deaths from Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal districts in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the spokesperson Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang of the Health department. The death toll stands at 2,080.
Meanwhile, Manipur reported 110 new Covid-19 cases after 1,600 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, officials said. The positivity rate is 6.9 percent. Thus, the state’s tally increased to 1,35,748 with 2321 active cases.
With 131 new recoveries including 83 from home isolation in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered Covid-19 cases in Manipur reached 1,31,347.Thus, the state’s recovery rate stands at 96.76%,the release added.
Presently, 608 Covid-19 positive cases are under home isolation. Till date 15,50,647 persons were tested for Covid-19 at the various testing centres in the state, the release said.
As per latest official reports, the state has so far given 26,22,092 doses of Covid vaccines including 14,81,507 first and 10,92,244 second doses besides 48,341 precautionary doses to the residents, it added.
It may be recalled that the first Covid-19 positive case in Manipur was reported on March 24, 2020 while the first death case due to the pandemic was reported on July 29 the same year. Presently the state has a total of 127 new Omicron variants of SARS-CoV2 after the detection of 85 new Omicron cases on February 2.
