Imphal, July 27 (EMN): Manipur on Tuesday reported 1,165 new Covid-19 cases taking the state’s tally to 94,821 with 10,802 active cases, official sources said.
The new positive cases were detected from 15 districts in the state and maximum numbers of cases were reported from Imphal West (337), Imphal East (299) and Churachandpur (123) districts.
The state also recorded 11 Covid-19 fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 1498, official sources said. The victims were from Imphal West (two), Imphal East (two), Thoubal (two), Churachandpur (two), Kakching (one), Kangpokpi (one) and Ukhrul (one) districts.
On the other hand, with 876 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered Covid-19 cases in Manipur reached 82,521. Thus, the state’s recovery rate stands at 87.02 percent. As of Tuesday, 10,59,872 persons were tested for Covid-19 while 7,12,508 persons were screened at the entry points of the state at the various testing centres in the state, it said.
Meanwhile, Manipur police detained 104 persons in the state for violating health protocols and released them after giving warning. An amount of INR 35,950 was also collected as fine.
Since January 16 vaccination drive, Manipur has so far given 12,34,030 doses of Covid vaccines including 10,55,749 first and 1,78,281 second doses to the residents.
According to official reports, a total of 5,16,629 first doses and 4712 second doses of Covid vaccine were given to people between 18-44 years and 2,64,033 first doses and 56,461 second doses to people between 45-59 years besides 1,33,797 first doses and 29,300 second doses to people above 60 years till date.
