IMPHAL —  Manipur government has increased the ration money allowance for police personnel from the existing INR 2,000 to INR 2,500 per head per month, effective from September 1, 2025.

“The Governor of Manipur is pleased to order the enhancement of ration money for the security personnel (Manipur Rifles, India Reserve Battalion, Civil Police, Manipur Police Telecommunication Organisation, Central Motor Transport Workshop, and Village Defence Force) of the Manipur Police department from the existing INR 2,000 to INR 2,500 per head per month with effect from 01/09/2025,” stated an order issued Thursday by Additional Secretary (Home), A Subhas Singh.

The order further mentioned that the decision was made with the approval of the Governor-in-Council on August 4, 2025.

Welcoming the move, the Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur, expressed gratitude to the state government for addressing a long-standing proposal. In a press release, he noted that the approval marks a significant welfare measure that would boost the morale and motivation of police personnel across all ranks.

The DGP said the initiative recognises the sacrifices and services of the Manipur Police, who, with dedication and courage, had carried out their duties during the turbulent law-and-order situation of the past two years and three months. Their sustained efforts, he added, played a crucial role in improving the state’s law-and-order scenario, and they remain committed to ensuring peace and security.
