Imphal, Dec. 22 (EMN): Manipur Health Minister Dr. S Ranjan Singh on Thursday appealed to the people to work on the precautionary measures even if the state has no active COVID-19 cases from the last seven days.
Dr. Ranjan one should not be complacent but should work on preventive measures.
Dr. Ranjan who also holds and Information Public Relations portfolio was speaking at the annual project meeting of on COVID-19 vaccination in Imphal on Thursday.
He maintained that situation of the pandemic still remains alarming in some countries according to recent reports. It is fortunate that Manipur as per the report of the health department released on December 21, 2022, the state holds the record of 0% of COVID 19 active case.
Informing that the percentage of COVID vaccination is below average in most of the hill districts, he said this need to be reviewed since vaccination is the way of survivor from COVID.
Lauding the role played by the NGOs in the state particularly working in the hill districts on COVID vaccination and awareness, he said without their effort and cooperation, the rate of vaccination might have come down even more.
Ranjan also suggested that people should not hesitate to take booster doses.
A souvenir published on the occasion was also released during the day’s event which was jointly organised by CASA, USAID, Momentus and NHM Manipur.
