IMPHAL, OCTOBER 19: The 125th Raising Day of Manipur Police was observed with great pomp and gaiety at 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground in Imphal on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi said the law and order situation in the state has improved in the last few years.
When the situation improves, the development activities can be taken up, he added.
Some police officers were also awarded during the day’s observation.
The Chief Minister also inspected the march past parade by about 22 contingents including women police team.
Additional SP Laishram Priyadarshini of Manipur Police Training College Pangei was the parade commander of the day’s march past parade which was attended by Deputy Speaker Preshaw Shimray, parliamentary secretaries, MLAs, Chief Secretary and other senior officials of the state government.
It may be mentioned that Manipur police was raised as the State Military Police on October 19, 1892.
