Manipur pensioners demand clearance of pending dues

Correspondent Imphal, January 10 [dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Manipur State Pensioners’ Union has urged the government of Manipur to clear the dues of dearness/relief allowance and arrears for the state pensioners/family pensioners besides the state government employees. The union had submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in this regard today. In the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, the pensioners demanded 8 percent DR/DA with effect from 01/01/2013, 10 percent DR/DA with effect from 01/07/2013 and merger of 50 percent DR/DA with basic pension/pay as it crossed 50 percent of basic pension/pay as on 01/01/2011 as was done in the year 2004.It further demanded the arrear from 01/07/2003 to 30/09/2013 in different percentage DR/DA. Indian products in Indian Product Exhibition in Myanmar Indian products will be displayed in the forthcoming Indo-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IMCCI) sponsored three day Indian Product exhibition at Myanmar’s Mandalay township from January 17 onwards. Many Indian products of automobile, food processing, textile, plastic etc will be displayed during the exhibition, according to sources available here. IMCCI had submitted a list of 10 companies for their participation in product exhibition. Many companies from Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand are also expected to attend the exhibition on a regular basis at Mandalay, it added. Manipur Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Public Health Engineering Minister I Hemochandra, Tribal Affairs and Hills Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing, MLA Chaltonlian Amo, MLA Y. Surchandra Singh, MLA Fajur Rahim-led 70-member Manipur delegation will be attending the product exhibition.
