Imphal, Dec. 13 (EMN): A tribute was paid to late Prof. Naorem Sanajaoba on his 13th death anniversary at Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Complex in Manipur’s Imphal district on Wednesday.
Eminent academician and senior citizen Prof. Arambam Lokendra, former head (political science dept) Dr. K Ibo of Manipur University, President Poudongai Kamson of Zeliangrong arts and culture organisation, President Ch Ajang Khongsai of Kuki Inpi Manipur, an apex body of Kuki community and Head (political science dept) Khullakpam Abdul Hakim Shah of GP Women college besides a woman leader were present during the observation.
Offering of floral tributes to the late professor and a public meeting were the main features of the death anniversary function organised by the Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Trust.
Born on December 30, 1945 at Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai in Imphal West district, Prof. Sanajaoba grew up in extreme poverty. After graduating from DM College, he studied Law at Gauhati University. He secured second position in LLB course and first position in LLM. Later, he taught in Gauhati University.
Some of the books written/authored by late Prof. Sanajaoba are Manipur: Past & Present, which is divided into several volumes; Manipur: Treaties & Documents, International Human Rights and A Manual of International Humanitarian Laws.
Prof. Sanajaoba passed away on Dec. 13, 2009, the day the third revised edition of his book Manipuri Puwari Kunmathoishuba Chahicha released.
Prof Sanajaoba always advocated for the integrity of the state of Manipur.
