IMPHAL — The final rites of Lamnunthem Singson, one of the two cabin crew members from Manipur who perished in the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash on June 12, were held at the Kangpokpi town cemetery in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Friday.
The 26-year-old’s body arrived in Kangpokpi on Thursday night, following its transport from Dimapur Airport in Nagaland. Kangpokpi town lies about 45 km north of Imphal.
In a heartfelt tribute, the Kangpokpi Town Committee organized a candlelight vigil that stretched from the heart of the town to Ward No. 8, where Singson resided with her family. Residents from all age groups stood in solemn silence, holding candles, as the funeral convoy passed through the town.
