Imphal, July 31 (EMN): Manipur Education minister Th Radheshyam, who visited the Delhi Government schools along with Nagaland education minister and some of his counterparts from other states during its ‘Happiness Utsav,’ expressed that his department plans to replicate Delhi’s Happiness Curriculum if it is suitable for the state’s education system.
“We have to apply the models which are suitable for the state,” Education Minister Th Radheshyam said when contacted on Wednesday.
‘Happiness Utsav’ is a fortnight celebration to mark the success of the Delhi Government’s flagship program for emotional and mental well-being of children. It was celebrated from July 16-30.
The education ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Nagaland, Manipur and the Councillor-in charge for Education for Ladakh Hill Council visited Delhi Government schools on Tuesday on the invitation of with the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to witness Happiness Classes first-hand at Delhi, says Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Manipur in a release on Tuesday night.
Appreciating the initiative of Delhi Government on education sector during the visit, Minister Radheshyam said that he was observing keenly the happiness development index among the students in Delhi so that the department in Manipur could apply the curriculum in school education. He also noted the transformational impact that the classes have had on children and their families.
In an interaction with the students of Sarvodaya Bal Vidhyalaya, West Vinod Nagar, New Delhi, he said that happiness of the children in school can bring contentment and a successful life in future.
The school children also revealed how the program was helping them cope with various pressures at school and at home during the interaction.
Meanwhile thanking Manipur minister and officials for accepting the invitation, Delhi Deputy CM Sisodia said, “I had personally invited the Manipur education minister so that other states can learn from Delhi and we can learn from the rest of the country.
Together we all have to provide the best possible education to our children.”
