Imphal, May 3 (EMN): The results of the higher secondary examination for 2018 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) was declared at the office of COHSEM by the Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam on May 3 Thursday.
Radheshyam said that the overall pass percentage was 67.04, which is a decline from the previous year's record of 68.81 percent. He informed that this year 28,024 candidates enrolled for the examination, out of which 27,776 candidates sat for it. 18,621 cleared the examination, he said.
The minister said that the examination results were declared in a short span of time because of the untiring efforts contributed by the education staff.
The pass percentage of Noney district recorded the highest pass percentage of 96.80 with 333 candidates clearing the examination out of 344 candidates who sat for it. Imphal West had the highest number of candidates appearing the examination: 9606 candidates, with 6664 clearing it.
Out of 7189 enrolled for Arts, 7079 sat and 5048 candidates cleared the papers. In the science stream 20328 enrolled, 20193 sat for the exam and 13240 cleared it. In the commerce stream 507 students enrolled, 504 sat for it and 333 cleared the examination.
