Imphal, Dec. 14 (EMN): Manipur health workers win awards for best Community Health Officer (CHO), Accredited Social Health Activist (Asha), and Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) under Awang Wabagai Team in Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWC) during the Universal Health Coverage Day held at New Delhi.
Sharing a photograph of the award winning health workers of the state in his Facebook post, state Chief Minister N Biren Singh wrote, “I am delighted to share that Manipur has received the Best Award for CHO, ASHA and ANM under Awang Wabagai Team in AB-HWC during the Universal Health Coverage Day held at New Delhi presented by Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Hon'ble Union MoS for Health & Family Welfare and high dignitaries of MoHFW, GoI.”
The CHO, Maibam Ranita won the best performing AB-HWC- Primary Health care team award, while the Multipurpose Health Worker Laishram Deeptibala and Thongam Shila, ASHA of Health and wellness centre Awang Wabagai Imphal West were also awarded during the event.
Universal Health Coverage Day is annually observed on Dec. 12 to raise awareness about having strong and resilient health systems across the globe with multi-stake holding partners. The day signifies access to quality, affordable health care for international development.
