Imphal, May 21 (EMN): Manipur Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh on Sunday said the Government is ready to introduce a new policy of transfer and posting of staffs very soon in order to streamline the posting of doctors and other staffs in state’s Health Department. Singh shared this during an interaction programme with doctors and staffs of Ukhrul District Hospital, located at Ukhrul district headquarters, about 84 km north of Imphal on Sunday.
Singh expressed that incentive schemes for medical staffs posted at remote places will also be introduced. He also advocated the state’s initiative about the concept and need of flying doctors in the state.
In order to fill up the vacant post of doctors, the Manipur Public Service Commission will be entrusted to recruit required post of doctors, he added.
The legislator appealed the public and the hospital staffs to co-operate the Government to maintain the hospital. He assured to look after the needs and requirement of the hospital and also the welfare of the staffs.
The Health Minister also interacted with the students and youth wing of Ukhrul and assured them of taking up necessary actions. The legislator visited patients in the hospital and also inspected the Labour Room, Operation Theatre and some portions of the hospital building. The Minister was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretaries Khasim Vashum and K Leishiyo.
