Imphal, May 13 (EMN): The government of Manipur’s third session of ‘Go to Village’ mission will be conducted at various villages across the state on May 15.
The ‘Go to Village’ mission is a brainchild of Chief Minister N Biren Singh. It is specifically designed to reach out towards the citizens at their doorsteps, explains government programmes and its benefits to the people. It also ensures timely delivery of services to eligible beneficiaries, redresses their problems and queries in a citizen-friendly manner and provides solution on the spot without delay.
To assist the villagers, officials of different governmental departments are deputed at camps organised every Tuesday at selected villages of all the 60 assembly constituencies. The mission will be covering all the villages, semi-urban, and urban localities one after another.
Under the mission, the government provides an array of services that include Aadhaar service; animal vaccination and treatment; health check up; opening of bank account, PMJDY, and other banking services; issuance of birth, death, and marriage certificates; electoral rolls enrolment and correction; distribution of school supplies; distribution of seedlings and samplings; financial assistance to poor and needy widows; pension under IGNDP, IGNOAP, MOAP, and IGNWP for old age; disabled; assistance to farmers under mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture Department; soil testing and issuance of soil Health Cards.
Facilities for on-the-spot verification and application submission for chief minister’s initiatives like “Chief Minister-gi Hakselgi Tengbang,” “Chief Minister-gi Sotharabasingi Tengbang,” and enrolment of drop out students under “Lairik Tamhansi - No Child Left Behind,” are also provided to villagers.
Moreover, applications for central government sponsored schemes like Housing under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana, LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and receiving LED bulb free of cost or at subsidised rate.
Apart from it, applications related to land measurements; ration card under NFSM; weaver / artisan card and yarn passbook under Textile Promotion Scheme; skill development training under MOBC; TA and Hills; commerce and industries; social welfare; MAHUD; Rural Development and Panchayati Raj; skill development training for border villages under BADP; new connection for un-electrified household under Saubhagya; assistance under RKVY; MIDH; sub-mission on agricultural mechanisation; PMKSY for agricultural inputs like certified seeds, green house, poly house, sprayer, pump sets, and such; seedling / samplings for tree plantation; fish feeds; construction of toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan; PMEGP Loan; and JSY, JSSK, and RBSK are also made available at different stalls of these camps.
The government officials also attend to community grievances, suggestions, and demands of infrastructural development like water supply, roads, school building, health facility, micro irrigation, and such.
Delivery of beneficiary schemes is done on the spot for identified and selected beneficiaries of the previous year. For the current year, benefits will be given after verification of forms, documents, and selection of beneficiaries.
The first session of the mission was lauched on May 1 at Laphupat Tera village in Imphal West district. People’s turn-up and participation in this mission was encouraging and immense as it witnessed a total of 60, 339 applications.
