IMPHAL, April 22 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) coalition government in Manipur is expected to resolve the Churachandpur problem arising out of the passing of three bills in the Manipur assembly and subsequent violence in the hill town which claimed nine lives in 2015.
The expectation of the new government was expressed during a reception for 25 members of the Autonomous District Council, Churachandpur and 14 councillors of the Wangoi Municipal Council at the BJP’s state unit office in Imphal on Saturday.
During the function, Chief Minister N Biren Singh of the new government appealed to the members to take necessary steps to resolve the ‘Churachandpur problem.’
Public Works minister Th Biswajit, Agriculture Minister V Hangkhalian, Parliamentary Secretary (Home) L Sushindro; BJP state unit President Kh Bhabananda, and former BJP state unit President Th Chaoba party also attended the day’s reception.
