Imphal, March 26 (EMN): Five days after its formation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Manipur led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced its 100 action points to be taken up in the first 100 days of the government on Saturday.
Addressing his maiden press conference at CM's Secretariat, Singh said that these action points will provide momentum to the new government to serve the people of Manipur effectively throughout the five years in recognition of the trust of the people of Manipur.
“This mission will also focus on transparent delivery of public service to the poorest of poor in the areas through inclusive growth,” he said.
The other important points are inauguration of Solar Power System for government health facilities in three districts, inauguration of paid private ward (18 rooms) at JNIMS, distribution of benefits to 16,000 old age pension scheme ,benefits to 10,000 widows, inauguration of 16 model anganwadi centres, formulation of Rani Gaidinliu scheme of INR 25,000 incentive to girls from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and other Backward Sections (BS).
In the next 100 days, inauguration of ISBT at Sekmai, amusement-cum-children park at Tamenglong, Senapati, Ukhrul, Jiribam, Churachandpur and Chandel, water and amusement park at Imphal East, launching of Manipur Start-Up 2.0 with Corpus Fund of INR 100 crores, inauguration of new Manipur Civil Secretariat in Imphal are among the main action points.
Besides, 50,000 prepaid power meters will be installed in the next 100 days and this will improve revenue collection and lead to assured power supply, he said.
He also mentioned that the state government, with an aim towards making Manipur 'corruption-free', had reconstituted the 'Anti-Corruption Cell' in the office of the chief minister.
Stating that the sub-division development mission will be launched across 68 sub-divisions, he said an IT platform will be created somewhat like the aspirational district and ranking will be published regularly.
In the next 100 days, all deputy commissioners(DC), superintendent of police(SPs), divisional forest officer(DFO)s and all employees will henceforth remain within the jurisdiction of their district. DC/SP/DFO and shall leave the district only with prior permission of the chief secretary/DGP/head-of-forest.
Expanding the concept of ‘Meeyamgi Numit’(People’s Day), the DCs shall earmark one day every month for district ‘Meeyamgi Numit’ – where the general public can bring their specific grievances or suggestions. SP, DFO and district level officers will attend the meetings, he further added.
In the first five years of the BJP led government in Manipur, ‘Meeyamgi Numit’ was held on the 15th of every month as a forum for the general public to address their grievances and submit their suggestions.
Ministers Th Biswajit, Y Khemchand, Govindas Konthoujam, Nemcha Kipgen and chief secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar were present at the press conference.
The chief minister also admitted that the government will also finalise scheme to provide free scooty to all meritorious college going girls, to provide scholarship to children of small, marginal or landless farmers pursuing technical education at graduation level or higher besides formulating scheme for distribution of free laptops to all meritorious students passing Class 12.
