IMPHAL — Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Monday held a comprehensive review meeting of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in various relief camps in the state.
In a presentation held at the conference hall of Raj Bhavan in Imphal, Governor Bhalla along with state Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh, Commissioner (Home) N Ashok Kumar, Deputy Commissioner M Rajkumar of Imphal West and senior officials, discussed various initiatives and activities being taken up for the IDP by the state administration.
During the presentation, the Governor was briefed about the management of IDPs by using a dedicated IDPs portal.
The discussions highlighted the government’s commitment for enhancing coordination and delivering public services effectively.
It may be noted that the state government had also already initiated to capture data of IDPs residing in the state to maintain a comprehensive database for the IDP affected by the ongoing crisis for the past more than two years.

DISHA meeting reviews development projects in Bishnupur district
Manipur had been witnessing a series of unwanted incidents after the May 3 incident in 2023 when a student rally turned violent in Churachandpur district and subsequently the violent acts spread in other parts of the state in which more than 250 people have lost their lives while more than 50,000 people were rendered homeless.
Since then most of the displaced people are still staying in the relief camps across the state while some are taking shelter outside the state.
NPO team meets Governor
A delegation of the Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), Senapati district, led by its president H Kuba Peter called on Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, on Monday.
The NPO also submitted a memorandum and requested the governor to implement three major projects aimed at improving connectivity and developing infrastructure in the district.
They also discussed activities undertaken to ensure the success of the upcoming Barak River Festival. The governor patiently listened to their concerns and assured them that the issues would be addressed.
