Manipur Governor inaugurates Agrivision Agri-Youth Parliament – 2026 at CAU Imphal, promoting agri innovation in NE.

IMPHAL — The Agrivision Agri-Youth Parliament – 2026 was inaugurated at the Central Agricultural University (CAU) premises at Eroishemba on the outskirts of Imphal on Saturday, March 21, with the aim of promoting dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration for sustainable and inclusive agricultural development in the North Eastern Region.
The three-day event which focuses on emerging research, technological advancements, and innovative solutions in agriculture and allied sectors was organised on the theme ‘Futuristic agriculture for North East Bharat: Sustainability, innovations and opportunities.’

After inaugurating the youth parliament, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, accompanied by Vice-Chancellor of Central Agricultural University (CAU) Dr Anupam Mishra, visited and inspected various exhibition stalls during a three-day event focusing on emerging research, technological advancements, and innovative solutions in agriculture and allied sectors.
The event was organised on the theme ‘Futuristic agriculture for North East Bharat: Sustainability, innovations and opportunities.’
During the visit, they interacted with participants, innovators, and entrepreneurs, and appreciated the display of agricultural innovations and indigenous products.
Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, Dr Dipjyoti Rajkhowa, along with other dignitaries, were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the governor stated that the Agri-Youth Parliament–2026 serves as a vital platform bringing together youth and stakeholders to shape the future of agriculture in the North East.
He noted that the vision of a Viksit Bharat is closely linked to empowering youth and transforming agriculture through innovation and enterprise.
Highlighting the region’s potential, Bhalla said the North East, particularly Manipur, is rich in natural resources, biodiversity, and indigenous knowledge systems.
He also emphasised the need to integrate traditional practices with modern technology, promote climate-resilient agriculture, strengthen infrastructure and market linkages, and foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem among youth.
Later sharing photographs of the event on X, Lok Bhavan Manipur wrote, “The three-day event brings together youth, innovators, scientists, and stakeholders to deliberate on sustainable, innovative, and future-ready agricultural practices for North East Bharat.”
“Highlighting the region’s immense potential, the Governor emphasised the role of youth-driven innovation, indigenous knowledge, and value-added agri-products such as Chakhao, Kachai Lemon, and Tamenglong Orange in shaping a resilient and globally competitive agricultural ecosystem,” it added.
The governor also released the souvenir-cum-abstract book during the day’s event which was attended by students, academicians, researchers, scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs.
