Manipur Governor appoints Wushu star Roshibina as DSP

Naorem Roshibina Devi receives her appointment letter from
the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, on Wednesday.
- IMPHAL — Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on
Wednesday handed over an appointment letter to Naorem Roshibina Devi, the
decorated Wushu athlete. Roshibina, an Arjuna Award recipient, was appointed as
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sports) in recognition of her outstanding
contributions to sports.
- Confirming this by sharing a picture in this regard on X,
Raj Bhavan Manipur wrote, “Hon’ble Governor Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, handed over
the appointment letter to Arjuna Awardee and celebrated Wushu player, Ms.
Naorem Roshibina Devi, as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sports).”
- “Recognising her stellar achievements and inspirational
journey, the Government of Manipur honours her contribution to sports. The
Hon'ble Governor congratulated her and wished her continued success,” it added.
- In another development, the head of Loktak Hydro Electric
Project, Upendra Hajra, called on the governor at Raj Bhavan. He briefed the
governor on the progress of key infrastructure initiatives, noting improved
execution in recent months, and sought further support.
- Bhalla also chaired the annual meeting of the executive
board of Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA), held at the conference hall of Raj
Bhavan in Imphal on Wednesday.
- During the meeting, various agendas related to the
administration and development of MSKA were thoroughly discussed, including
policy enhancements, financial planning, programme expansions, and initiatives
aimed at promoting art, culture, and literature.
- Secretary to the Governor, Sumant Singh, Commissioner
(Finance) N Ashok Kumar, Special Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Art and Culture) M
Joy Singh, along with other board members, attended the meeting.
