“As Asia’s oldest football competition, featuring premier teams from the Indian Super League, I-League, and the Armed Forces, the Durand Cup carries immense sporting prestige. With large spectator participation anticipated, the State Government remains fully committed to delivering a secure, well-organised, and world-class sporting event, further reinforcing Manipur’s standing as a leading hub of football excellence.”
The Durand Cup returned to Manipur after a two-year gap for its 134th edition (Group F match) at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium in Imphal in July last year.
The state had previously hosted 10 group games of the 131st edition of the Durand Cup for the first time, along with Assam, in Imphal from August 18 to September 5, 2022.
The tournament is organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Government of Manipur.
