Manipur CM felicitates Solimla, Solan

Manipur chief minister, N Biren Singh, felicitated the two female athletes from the state, Solimla Jajo who won a silver medal and Solan Jajo who bagged 4th position at the recently concluded 54th Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship-2022 in Maldives.

Sharing the photographs of the felicitation event at the chief minister’s secretariat in a tweet on Thursday, the chief minister tweeted, “Felicitated Miss Solimla Jajo of Kasom Khullen who won the silver medal in the 165 cm category and Miss Solan Jajo of Leishi Village, Ukhrul district, who won fourth place at the 160 cm category, representing India at the 54th Asian Bodybuilding Championship.”

The felicitation came four days after Biren Singh congratulated both the athletes in a Facebook post on July 25 wherein he said Solimla Jajo created history by winning the silver medal in the Junior Miss Asia Physique while Solan Jajo secured the fourth position in under 160 cm category.

In the recently concluded Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship-2022 in Maldives, Solimla Jajo (17) from Kasom Khullen village won the silver medal in the 165 cm senior model physique competition while her colleague Solan Jajo (17) from Leishi village secured 4th position in the 160 cm senior model physique category.

Both the title holder athletes who returned to the state on July 23 were accorded hero’s welcome at Bir Tikendrajit International airport.

It may be mentioned that altogether seven individuals including Solimla and Solan represent team India at the 7-day 54th Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship-2022 held from July 15 to the 21st.
