IMPHAL — Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Monday convened a meeting with legislators of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal to deliberate on “critical issues of governance and administration.”
Sharing photographs of the meeting in a social media post, the chief minister wrote, “Chaired a meeting with MLAs of the NDA at the Secretariat today to deliberate on critical issues of governance and administration, with a clear resolve for coordinated and decisive action at all levels to restore peace and security in the state.”
“The Government stands unwavering in its duty to protect the safety and welfare of every citizen. We are committed to ensuring that peace, prosperity, and sustained progress are delivered to all, guided by the core principles of people-centric governance,” Khemchand added.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Naga People’s Front (NPF) MLAs, more than a dozen BJP legislators including former ministers, National People’s Party legislators, lone Janata Dal (U) MLA, besides an Independent MLA.

Khemchand was sworn in as the second BJP and 13th chief minister of Manipur on February 4 this year.
BJP MLA Nemcha Kipgen of Kangpokpi and NPF MLA Losii Dikho were sworn in as deputy chief ministers, while BJP MLA Govindas Konthoujam and National People's Party MLA Khuraijam Loken also got cabinet portfolios.
Dikho launches 7th State Media Fellowship

Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho formally launched the 7th State-Level Media Fellowship programme on Climate Change Reporting (2026-27) of the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (DoECC) at the new Mantripukhuri Minister’s Block on April 27.
Three out of four advisors to the Media Working Group on Climate Change, namely Pradip Phanjoubam, Khogendra Khomdram and Salam Rajesh, attended the event along with DoECC Director Dr. T Brajakumar Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dikho, who is also Minister in-charge of Forest & Climate Change, stressed the importance of responsible and informed media while reporting on climate change issues.
He said, “I would like to commend the efforts of this directorate for successfully organising this initiative, which has become a flagship programme in empowering journalists across our state. We are living in a time when climate change is no longer a distant concern but a pressing reality. In such a scenario, the role of the media becomes not just important, but indispensable.”
According to Dr. Brajakumar, the objective of the media fellowship programme is to enhance the capacity building of the media fraternity on climate change reporting and make better understanding of climate facts through strengthening networks to all the media fellow recipients and intending applicants/young journalists of the state.
It also targets to make better understanding of climate facts and reporting in simple common language.
