IMPHAL — The results of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2026 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BoSEM) was declared in Imphal on Friday afternoon.
A total of 36,579 students, including 18,296 female students and 18,283 males, appeared in the examination conducted across 151 centres--100 centres in the valley and 51 in the hills--this year, wherein 32,459 students (including 16,206 female students and 16,253 males) passed the examination.
The overall pass percentage this year is 88.74%, compared to 91.37% recorded last year. Chandel district registered the highest pass percentage at 97.38%, followed by Thoubal district with 96.30 %, while Jiribam and Senapati recorded the least pass percentage at 74.59% and 80.18% respectively.

The overall pass percentage of government institutions is 77.63 %, while the pass percentage of non-government institutions is 92.34 %.
Out of 32,459 successful students, 24,903 are from private schools, 6308 are government schools, and 1248 from aided schools.
It may be mentioned that ranking system has been stopped since the authority introduced grading system in 2024.
Education (Schools) Commissioner, N Geoffrey; Education (Director), Ng Bhogendra; BoSEM Chairman A Joykumar; BoSEM (Controller of Examinations) Ayam Thoi Singh; and others were present during the declaration of results in Imphal on Friday.
Students can check their results at www.manresults.nic.in, said officials.
Meanwhile, it has been decided during the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh that Relative Grading System would be introduced for Class XI and Higher Secondary (Class XII) examinations conducted by COHSEM from 2026 and 2027 respectively.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, who is also in charge of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Home Minister Gvindas Konthoujam, Arts & Culture Minister Kh Loken, Chief Secretary and additional chief secretary.
The Cabinet also approved the appointment of meritorious sportspersons from Manipur who won gold medals in the 36th and 37th National Games and bronze medals in the 18th Asian Games to suitable jobs across different departments of the State.
Earlier, the chief minister also chaired a review meeting of legislators of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on the welfare of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) facing hardship, at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal.
Sharing photographs of the meeting in a social media post, Khemchand wrote: “Chaired a review meeting of Hon’ble ruling MLAs of the NDA today at the Secretariat on the welfare of IDPs facing hardship. Reviewed measures to improve their living conditions and support systems. The Government of Manipur remains firmly committed to their care, dignity, and rehabilitation.”
As many as 58,881 people continue remained displaced in Manipur as of March 30 this year, nearly three years after the violence began on May 3, 2023. These figures were based on response to an RTI filed by a congress leader.
