at the 21st National Mountain Biking Championship, held in Panchkula, Haryana.
- IMPHAL — Manipur
mountain bikers won the Men's Elite Team Champion title at the 21st National
Mountain Biking Championship, held in Panchkula, Haryana.
- Manipur won one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal
during the championship.
- Kharaksing Adonis Tangpu from Ukhrul district won a gold
medal in Men's Elite XCO and a silver medal in Men's Elite XCT, while his
fellow rider Khundrakpam Ronel Singh of Bishnupur district won a bronze medal
in Men's Elite XCO.
- Thotmachan Awungshi, another rider from Ukhrul, Manipur, won
a silver medal in Men's U-23 XCO.
- Twenty-three-year-old Adonis was also a silver medallist in
the prestigious Men's Elite XCO (Time Trial) event at the recently concluded
38th National Games in Garutal, Sattal, Uttarakhand.
- The Manipur team was represented by seven players and two
officials, with Ngathem Pungfa as team manager and Dr. Tourangbam Alex as team
coach at the National Championship in Haryana.
- In a statement issued by the Manipur Adventure and Mountain
Biking Association (MAAMBA), its president Dr. Ng Arunkumar Singh and secretary
Y Robertson congratulated the players and officials of the state team for their
achievements, bringing laurels to the state.
