A 15 day Manipur assembly session having around 11 sittings will be started with Governor’s address from Friday onwards, according to official sources in Imphal. The session will conclude on March 4 next.
The opening day of the session will have Governor V Shanmuganathan’s address followed by motion of thanks to Governor’s address, presentation of supplementary budget estimates 2016-17 and presentation of demand for excess grants 2012-13,sources said.
The second day sitting will be held on Monday with obituary reference and discussion on motion of thanks and it will be followed by questions and general discussion on supplementary demands for grants 2015-16, discussion and voting on supplementary demands for grants 2015-16,general discussion on budget estimates 2016-17 along with the introduction of Manipur appropriation (No.1) Bill 2016 on the third day sitting on Tuesday. Similarly there will be question hour every day till the concluding day (March 4),it added.
Matric,Higher secondary exam: The Board of Secondary Education Manipur(BOSEM) conducted High School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2016 will commenced on March 1 and continue till March 19, while the Council of Higher Secondary Education conducted Higher Secondary Examination will commenced on February 22 and continue till March 21.Announcing this on Thursday by Manipur’s Education minister Moirangthem Okendro here said that all measure have been put in place to ensure smooth, free and fair conduct of this year’s matriculation and the Higher Secondary examination in both the hills and the valley districts.Altogether 36703 students will seat in 21 board centres located in Imphal and 68 private centers located in different districts of the State for the HSLC examination, while altogether 27238 students of three streams will appear in the Higher Secondary Examination this year.Urging the parents, guardians and friends from assisting the candidates in the practice of unfair means during the examinations, Minister also called upon all concerned against inciting violence inside or near the exam centres. BOSEM chairman H Dileep said that the number of examination flying squad team for the board exam has been increased to 45 with each team comprising of four members. The Director of Education (S) has furnished a list of 172 teachers of government schools to be appointed as flying squad members. 74 Micro observers provided with cameras will be used to record the conduct of the examinations at 68 private centers and eight sub-centers, he added.
