First North Eastern Girls (U-19) Football Tournament

Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): It was raining goals on the second day of the first North Eastern Girls (U-19) Football Tournament as Manipur XI, Assam XI and Mizoram XI together scored 24 goals against their opponents, registering comprehensive victories. Manipur Girls defeated Meghalaya XI 9-0 against Meghalaya XI, while Assam Girls beat Arunachal Pradesh XI 6-0 and Mizoram XI defeated Nagaland XI 9-0, informed an update from PRO HQ IGAR (N). With the win on Thursday, the three teams have secured a place for the semi-finals. Sikkim will now play against Manipur and Assam against Mizoram in their respective semi-final matches to be played at the IG Stadium, Kohima on July 20 while the final and closing ceremony will be held on July 21. In the opening match played between Sikkim XI and Tripura XI at the KASA Stadium in Diphu on July 17, Sikkim beat Tripura 2-1 thus registering a semi-final berth.
