Imphal, Oct. 6 (EMN): In a move to converge and design reforms and strategic ties that will reshape the economies of the Northeast region in future, the 8th edition of the Young Leaders Connect (YLC) also called Young Leaders Connect-8 will be held under the aegis of North East Leaders Connect (NELC) in Imphal on Friday.
The theme for this year’s conclave, which is expected to be attended by around 500 young faces of the region is, ‘Northeast India 2030: Towards India’s Innovative and Sustainable Growth’.
Union minister of Law & Justice Kiren Rijiju, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Manipur education minister The Basantakumar, Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi, Former ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhaya will attend the day long conclave.
This was conveyed by NELC governing members: MP Gaurav Gogoi, BJP national spokesperson Mmhonlumo Kikon, Commissioner (Income Tax) Gaichanglungliu Kamei, Founder & chair YouthNet Hekali Jakhalu Kense and EastMojo Editor in-chief Karma Paljor during a press conference in Imphal on Oct. 6.
The North East Young Heroes Award 2022 will also be distributed during the day’s event, said Mmhonlumo Kikon, NELC governing member from Nagaland.
Karma Paljor during the conference said that the Arunachal chief minister will have conservation on the topic, “Arunachal showing the way towards a digitally powered government.” While MP Gaurav Gogoi will also moderate a panel discussion on unlocking the economic roadmap for NE India while Director (Policy&Partnmership Star education Manipur) Golan Naulak will moderate another discussion on, ‘what will be the key sectors that will drive inclusive and sustainable growth in NE India?’
NELC is a dynamic community and network of like-minded leaders and achievers from Northeast with a vision to act as a catalyst for the promotion of the region's diverse fields.
The members include policymakers, business innovators, journalists, social entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare experts, sports personalities, development practitioners and more.
