DIMAPUR, JULY 11: The meeting of the Mangkolemba Sub divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) for the month of July was held on July 5. The meeting was presided over by the vice-chairman of the SDPDB, also the ADC of Mangkolemba subdivision, T ImtiwapangAier.
As part of the agenda, the ADC reminded all the members of the board to ‘avail proper leave in written’ when they are unable to attend the meetings.
After review of the previous meeting’s minutes, the members deliberated on a proposal submitted by Sub Treasury Officer (STO) of Mangkolemba which was decided to be recommended for onward submission to the government for approval.
The proposal was for construction of a ‘multiple flat type building’ for their officers and staffers ‘since the department presently has no accommodation thereby hampering the smooth functioning of the office.’
In regard to the proposed agenda for construction of a building for the extra assistant commissioner in Alongkima, the members were apprised on the deplorable condition of the office ‘which is unsafe and beyond repair.’ The board was requested to approve the proposal for a new building.
After discussing the matter, the members of the board decided to approve the proposal for submission to the government for approval.
The house further also deliberated on the ‘extremely bad quality of water supplied in all the four administrative headquarters namely the ADC headquarter of Mangkolemba, EAC headquarter of Longchem, EAC headquarter of Alongkima and EAC headquarter of Merangmen under the sub-division.
The water is being supplied directly from the streams and is unhealthy for human use, especially during rainy season. In this regard, SDO PHED, Mangkolemba has been directed to submit a concept not on ‘Augmentation of water supply through stream water source in all the four HQs for onward submission to the government for approval.
During the meeting, the vice chairman expressed his dismay and unhappiness regarding the attendance performance of the government officials and staffers posted in the sub-division and further requested all the head of offices to maintain attendance register which would be further inspected by ADC office.
The recent picketing of the SDEO and BDO office by the Mangkolemba Ao Lanur Telongjem (MALT) was also discussed. In this regard SDEO highlighted and expressed the problems faced by her office due to the absence of the HA who has not reported for duty since the last three years.
The chairman of the meeting assured that all efforts would be taken to settle the issue at the earliest.
The block development officer of Mangkolembawas directed to run the office regularly from the Sub division and not from Mokokchung since they have to be in constant touch with the villagers or the Board would take the matter to the highest level befitting penalty for the erring officers.SDO (C) Longchem submitted a proposal for repairing the Longchem-Naganijan road which is in a pathetic and deplorable condition for commuters to travel.
In this connection, he further requested the PWD department to assist and help the people during the repairing of the road which will be undertaken by the villagers as voluntary social work this month.
With the transfer of Sub Treasury office from Mokokchung to Mangkolemba and an upgrade for SBI Mangkolemba from Asst. Manager to Branch Manager thus increasing the Bank Cash Retention limit, the Vice Chairman directed all the VDBs Account under the Sub Division to SBI Mangkolemba. Meanwhile the department concerned, when asked to furnish the details of the accounts, expressed their difficulties involved to transfer the accounts citing various problems faced by the BDOs, which further will be taken up with the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman VDB and Project Director (DRDA), Mokokchung at the earliest.
Earlier, the vice chairman appraised the house to nominate deserving candidates from their respective departments and submit to ADC Office for onward submission, based on the letter received from DC Mokokchung for district award 2016, in view of the forthcoming Independence Day Celebration.
The next SDPDB meeting for the month of August is scheduled on 5th August 2016 where work distribution of the Independence Day Celebration would be chalked out.
