Mangkolemba ‘B’ clinched the team championship of the 2nd King’s Volleyball tournament, while Alangpang Zunga from Changtonya bagged the runners-up title which was held at State Stadium, Dimapur, from April 14-16 on the theme ‘Exploring talents.’
In other categories, RJB team won the best discipline team, while Imnainba of Unified Boro-Lengri was declared the best player. The best spiker title was awarded to Arindham Burua of Mangkolemba ‘B’ while the best setter prize was won by Maneshwar Rapha of Mangkolemba ‘B.’The champion team pocketed cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with running trophy and citation, while the runners-up team won Rs 30,000 along with trophy and citation. The semi finalists were awarded Rs 3000 each besides Rs 3000 to best the player, Rs 2000 each to the best discipline team, best spiker, and best setter.
A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament.
The final match began with invocation prayer said by pastor of Indisen Ao Baptist Church, Dimapur, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Hanilong Pongen, organizing secretary.
