DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Medical Council (NMC)
has directed all allopathic medical practitioners serving or practicing modern
medicine in Nagaland to ensure compliance with the mandatory registration
requirements under the Nagaland Medical Act 2014.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the council
maintained that all allopathic medical practitioners working in any capacity
within Nagaland—including private clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, or other
healthcare facilities—must be registered with the Nagaland Medical Council.
“Allopathic doctors in central government services, as well
as visiting allopathic doctors from outside Nagaland conducting medical camps,
offering consultations in hospitals or nursing homes, are required to register
with the Nagaland Medical Council before undertaking any medical practice in
the state.
“Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) already enrolled
with the Nagaland Medical Council are reminded to renew their registration
every five years to maintain their valid registration status as mandated by the
Act,” it added.
The council warned that failure to comply with these
provisions will be considered a violation of the Nagaland Medical Act 2014
Chapter III Sec 16 (6), and appropriate action will be taken against the
defaulters.
